Salford Coat of Arms Printed Heraldic Handkerchief
It's a special edition screenprinted cotton square handkerchief screenprinted with the Salford Coat of Arms.
Illustrator Robert Shadbolt has drawn the 1844 Coat of Arms and cut a lino block to create an original print. Megan Price has then taken this image to make a silkscreen stencil in order to print and produce a series of heraldic hankies.
The design features a heraldic antelope which historically symbolizes peace, purity, and fierce defense of one's property, and a wolf, which can mean loyalty and perseverance.
The shield in the centre shows the flying bees representing hard work, a cotton weaver's shuttle and wheat sheaves honouring the textile industry and agriculture.
The motto "Integrity and Industry" runs along the bottom.
Printed on 100% cotton in a choice of raspberry red, sage green and sky blue.
Size: Approx 33cm x 33cm. A handy pocket size square. The edge is finished with a narrow overlocked hem.
Machine washable at 40C.
The individual handkerchief is folded and wrapped with a paper band.
You can also choose to have this item gift wrapped and sent direct to the recipient if you are buying a present.
